Life During Wartime, Making Flippy Floppy, Once In A Lifetime, and Crosseyed and Painless don't sound as good on these live versions, supposedly because the main catchy keyboard/synthesizer riffs weren't brought to the front like they should be, so the melody was barely audible. I believe it has to do with which parts are more audible during the mixing/mastering of the original studio albums. Heaven sounds better live, for reasons I can't explain. And some live recordings were better because the main riffs were louder on the live version than in the studio version, which was the case with Slippery People. But overall it is a solid piece of work and most representative of their hits up until Speaking In Tongues, which I believe was the last really good album they released.
very enjoyable. i dont know the names of any of these guys, but my oh my do they play well together.
sweet jesus. i was never a big fan of talking heads, until i saw this dvd.
i immediatly purchased the audio album, and i listen to it at least once a day. these peeps can put on a show.
such an energetic performance. i reccomend this to anyone who loves music.
i love this album.
Our radio staion 100.1 THEX started playing this song by the Talking Heads and my husband went crazy over it. We could never get the radio station to take our call and they never said the name of the song after it was played. Well, thanks to Amazon you can play snips of the songs from the albums. I was able to suprise my excited husband and give it to him as a "Just Because" gift. Thanks so much
If you have ever seen the dvd and are hoping for all of the same things this cd is the closest thing to it. This is fantastic for anyone who wants to start listening to the Talking Heads or you have been listening to them for years.
I put this CD on my surround sound and feel like I am there, burnin' down the house. Great for every body who was born in the 70's. Keep on jammin. Peace.
